Orewa Beach is a friendly resort town on the Hibiscus
Coast just 20 minutes north of Auckland.
The beach is one of the most beautiful in this fast growing region and is
renowned as a safe, family swimming beach. The township is a thriving
community that offers a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Local
attractions include a variety of Golf and Country clubs, Waiwera Thermal
Pool complex; Puhoi Cheese factory; historic Puhoi village; an indoor ski
slope, Snowplanet; indoor Go-Kart centre; a Luge; Mini-golf; Horse treks;
Miniature train rides; Movie theatres; Art galleries and a superb Marina at
nearby Gulf Harbour.
Further afield, there are the many islands and bays of the sparkling Hauraki
Gulf to explore, a pleasure that’s also available to non-sailors through the
convenient ferry services that visit most of the larger islands, as well as
Goat Island’s marine reserve. The region also features quiet rural towns
with their own markets, excellent vineyards and many beaches ranging from
quiet coves to exhilarating ocean surf beaches.
